JDC Sponsor 'Child of the Year' at Pride of Jersey Awards 2020
Last year’s Covid –19 restrictions forced the Pride of Jersey awards to be postponed, however, we are still delighted to support the Jersey Evening Post, 2020 Pride of Jersey Awards which is now taking place on Thursday 23 September at Le Manoir de Rooster.
These awards give us an opportunity to celebrate remarkable individuals who have gone beyond all expectations and have helped to enhance the lives of others around them.
The Jersey Evening Post (JEP) received a huge response from Islanders who nominated 153 amazing individuals and received a staggering 36,887 votes. Covid has meant an inevitable delay in proceedings, however it is clear that the awards will be as eagerly awaited and popular as ever.
Jersey Development Company (JDC) is government-owned which makes it different to privately owned development companies. Part of JDC’s remit is to invest profits back into the island’s infrastructure which adds value to the island’s community and environment. Place making and creating communities has always been at the heart of JDC – the Company’s vision is “To build a better Jersey”. Our purpose is to ensure we are supporting economic stability and growth for the benefit of all islanders and in particular our children’s prosperity and ensuring they can live in a happy and stable environment. The Company is also supportive of the Government of Jersey’s strategic objective of putting children first. For these reasons, we are delighted to once again sponsor the Pride of Jersey ‘Child of the Year’ award.
The judging will take place today – Thursday 2 September. Panels consisting of representatives from the category sponsor and JEP, and a previous-year winner or finalist, will select winners from the shortlists following the public vote last year.< Back to News list
