2019 Pride of Jersey Awards Evening
We were delighted to once again support the JEP Pride of Jersey Awards, which was held at Le Manoir De Rooster - Albert Bartletts on the evening of Thursday 26 September.
The awards recognise remarkable groups or individuals who have gone beyond all expectations and have helped to enhance the lives of others around them.
The awards evening commenced with Jersey born Soprano singer Georgi Mottram who sang alongside The Theatre Workshop before Georgi joined regular host and former footballer Graeme Le Saux to commence the awards. We were honoured to be with so many inspirational people and hearing some remarkable stories.
We are proud to once again sponsor the Child of the Year award for the fourth year. The three finalists who were selected by public vote were Charlie Perry, Megan Gavey and Jake Hutchings.
These three remarkable individuals have overcome incredible hardships with determination and dignity. Charlie, Megan and Jake have defied all odds and bring so much joy to their family and friends.
We were delighted to award Child of the Year 2019 to Jake Hutchings.
At just five years old with ‘unexpected maturity and resilience’ Jake’s sister passed away of Pearson Syndrome and required special care during their five years as brother and sister. Jake helped care for Izzy, such as helping her get out of bed, fetching her shoes or helping her get dressed. Nominated by the Jersey’s children charity, the charity said that Jake never stopped being an attentive and caring brother. Jake never resented the extra attention Izzy received and was a constant source of comfort to his parents and able to cheer them up with his wonderful upbeat nature, which he has retained through this devastating time. Jake is always smiling and is an inspiration to others.< Back to News list
