Upgraded Waterfront Car Park allows easier payment

Following an upgrade to the Waterfront Car Park, Jersey Development Company has launched a new ‘Tap & Go’ parking system allowing parking customers to enter and exit the car park by using contactless (or chip & pin) credit or debit cards.

From this week (6 August) customers no longer need to visit the pay station, entry and exit is gained by tapping a contactless credit or debit card at the entrance barrier and again at the exit.

Once the credit / debit card has been tapped at the exit, the parking fee will be displayed on screen. If customers wish to continue to pay using the same card, the card is held at the reader to process secure payment (or tap twice) which then lifts the barrier to allow safe exit. (Normal chip and pin cards can also be used.)

A ticket option will still be available at the car park entrance for those who prefer to pay cash or card at the pay station. An additional pay station will shortly be installed beside the stairwell to the Leisure Complex.

A customer service team is assisting car park users at both the entry and exit barriers whilst the new system is bedding in.


*Please note max spend available on contactless cards is £30, Chip & Pin cards may be used for higher transactions. Tap & Go accepts MasterCard or Visa credit and debit cards
