The Waterfront car park is designed as a short stay car park and as such the parking charges reflect this.
Please also note the height restriction on entry is 2 metres.
Parking is chargeable Monday to Saturday between the hours of 8am and 6pm at the following rates:-
- Less than 20 minutes: free
- The first 3 hours are charged at £1.00 per hour or part thereof (if the total stay is over 20 minutes)
- The fourth & fifth hour at £1.40 per hour or part thereof
- The sixth, seventh and eighth hours of your stay are charged at £2.00 per hour or part thereof
- The ninth hour and over is charged at £3.00 per hour or part thereof
The car park operates on either a ticket system and payment is made via pay-stations by cash or credit/debit card.
Alternatively, you can now 'Tap & Go' by tapping a contactless credit or debit card at the entrance barrier (no ticket required) and again at the exit barrier avoiding any wait at a pay station or worrying about losing your ticket. Once the credit/debit card has been tapped at the exit, a parking fee will be displayed on the screen. If customers wish to continue to pay using the same card, the card is held at the reader (or tap twice) to process the secure payment, which then lifts up the barrier. Normal chip & pin cards can be used.
For customers who take a ticket at the entrance, you will need to make payment at the pay station. The car park records your registration details on your ticket and when payment is made, the barrier will raise automatically on exit. If the barrier does not raise, please insert your ticket and if payment has been made, the barrier will raise. There is an option to pay at the exit barrier by credit / debit card only, but please ensure you keep your ticket.
Please note that although parking is free between 6pm and 8am, if you leave your car all day and overnight, the following morning at 8am your parking charges will continue at £3.00 per hour or part thereof.
**Please note, lost or damaged tickets will be charged at £15**
There is no charge for using credit/debit cards
COMMUTER PARKING SPACES
Located on the lower level of the car park are numbered spaces available to rent. There are 174 spaces available 24/7.
The spaces are behind barriers and the area is covered by CCTV.
Payment for these spaces are by standing order paid monthly in advance.
From 1 January 2019
7 day spaces £275 per calendar month plus GST
The car park operates an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system and will automatically raise the barriers on entry, the areas within the car park where you are authorised to park and on exiting the car park. In the unlikely event that a barrier does not raise, then you will be required to use the plastic card that has been issued to you to raise the barrier by placing it in front of the area below the display.
