Waterfront Car Parking Charges

Charges apply 8am - 6pm Monday to Saturday only

0-3 hours or part thereof                         £1.10 per hour*

4th and 5th hour or part thereof        £1.60 per hour

6th and 7th hour or part thereof        £2.20 per hour

9th and 10th hour or part thereof     £3.30 per hour

*If you enter and leave within 20 minutes there is no charge. 

 

Car Parking at the Waterfront Car Park: Terms & Conditions of Use  

 

Entry to or use of the Waterfront Car Park is subject to the current terms and conditions of The States of Jersey Development Company Limited / Jersey Development Company ("JDC").

 

Entry to and use of the Waterfront Car Park is entirely at your own risk. 

  

Customers are requested to read carefully the terms and conditions for entry to, use of and exit from, the Waterfront Car Park and are required to follow the procedures accordingly. 

 

A tariff of parking charges is displayed at the Waterfront Car Park, and by parking in the Waterfront Car Park, customers accept responsibility for payment in full of such charges.

 

1. Jersey Development Company’s Liability 

Customers are advised that the Waterfront Car Park is open to everyone but JDC, its employees and agents reserve the right to refuse admittance to the Waterfront Car Park.

 

JDC cannot guarantee the security of your vehicle or its contents.  Accordingly, JDC, its employees or agents will not be held liable for any loss, damage or detriment to any person, vehicle (including its contents) or property whatsoever, other than that which is attributable to wilful misconduct by JDC, its employees or agents. 

 

2. Parking  

  • Entry to and exit from the Waterfront Car Park must be through the designated entrances and exits.

  • Customers must park vehicles only within designated bays and must not cause any obstruction to the designated entrances and exits or accessways or any other parking spaces. 

  • Bays reserved for disabled drivers must only be used by disabled drivers and vehicles parked in such bays must display appropriate disabled badges and/or windscreen stickers.  

  • Bays reserved for parents and children must only be used by carers with children under 8 years old.

  • Use of and access to the Waterfront Car Park is granted solely for the purpose of parking and retrieving of cars parked therein, in accordance with these terms and condition, and for no other purpose.

  • Bays reserved for the charging of electric vehicles must only be used for the parking and simultaneous charging of electric vehicles.

  • Bays are available only on a first come, first served basis and JDC cannot guarantee the availability of a specific bay, or any bay at all.

   

3. Complaints Procedure 

Should your vehicle suffer damage or if you lose any of your possessions from the vehicle whilst it is in the Waterfront Car Park, we request that you: 

 

If you consider that you have a claim against JDC you must provide written notice with full details of the occurrence for the attention of: The Estate Manager, Jersey Development Company, First Floor, Dialogue House. 2-6 Anley Street, St Helier, JE2 3QE, or via email to enquiries@jerseydevelopment.je

 

All claims must be made within 72 hours of discovery of the loss or damage. Before submitting a claim to JDC, users are requested to refer to 'Condition No 1' (above) and to satisfy themselves that the subject matter of their claim falls within JDC's responsibility. 

 

4. Securing your Vehicle 

Unless requested by JDC or one of its employees, please ensure that the following checks have been made before leaving your vehicle: 

  • your vehicle is fully and securely locked; 

  • all windows and the sunroof of your vehicle are securely closed; and

  • where the vehicle is licensed in Jersey,  a valid insurance disc is displayed on the windscreen. 

 

5. Possessions 

  • Wherever possible, please take your possessions with you when you leave your vehicle. 

  • If you have to leave possessions in your vehicle, do not leave them where they are visible and ensure that they are as securely out of sight as possible. 

 

6. Courtesy to other Customers 

  • Users of the Waterfront Car Park should exercise consideration for other users and take all steps to ensure no damage is caused to any vehicle or other property at the Waterfront Car Park.

  • Users of the Waterfront Car Park are fully responsible for all and any loss or damage they may cause to persons, vehicles or other property.

  • Should you damage another customer's vehicle you must report the matter immediately to JDC on 01534 617 449 or enquiries@jerseydevelopment.je and provide JDC with the registration number for both vehicles. 

 

7. Safety in the Car Park 

  • Please drive carefully in the Waterfront Car Park and obey the directional signs. Vehicles should not be driven at a speed in excess of 10 miles per hour.

  • After you have parked your vehicle please proceed to the nearest exit ways which are signposted.

  • Please ensure that children do not play in the Waterfront Car Park s and please notify a JDC staff member if you feel the need for assistance in such instances.

  • Pedestrians should use the designated pedestrian areas and zebra crossings.

  • Please do not take into or keep in the Waterfront Car Park any motor fuel or lubricating oil other than that inside the fuel tank and engine of vehicles parked within the Waterfront Car Park.

  • Users shall not park any vehicles which are in an unsafe condition.

  • Users of the Waterfront Car Park must comply with any other directions or instructions from JDC, its employees or agents in respect of the use of the Waterfront Car Park.

  

8. Lost Tickets 

Customers who cannot produce their parking tickets upon departure will be charged according to the current Waterfront Car Park tariffs.  A new ticket can be printed by entering the vehicle registration plate number at the pay machine.

  

9. Agency 

Anyone who enters into a contract with JDC for the parking of a vehicle, whether by purchasing a ticket or otherwise, does so on their own behalf. 

   

10. Moving and relocating of Vehicles 

  • JDC reserves the right to move (i) any vehicle causing an obstruction within the Waterfront Car Park or (ii) an incorrectly parked vehicle, or (iii) any vehicle left in contravention of these terms.

  • JDC will not be held liable for any damage caused to any person, vehicle or property other than that which is attributable to wilful misconduct on its part. 

  • Where the Waterfront Car Park has to be closed either temporarily or permanently, in whole or in part, or has to be evacuated in cases of emergency, JDC reserves the right to remove any vehicle at any time to any other reasonably convenient car park within the control of JDC and it will not be liable for any damage caused to any person, vehicle or property other than that which is attributable to wilful misconduct on its part. 

  • JDC reserves the right for it, its agents or the relevant police/control authority to move or remove any vehicle in order to safeguard any person or property against injury or damage, or in the event of an actual or perceived threat to security, and to remove vehicles which are, or appear to be, stolen or abandoned. 

  • JDC will have the right to remove vehicles parked in the short stay area of the Waterfront Car Park for more than 15 days. These vehicles will be taken to the vehicle impound (currently located at La Collette).

  

11. Indemnity 

The user of the Waterfront Car Park agrees to indemnify JDC in respect of any losses, claims, demands, actions, proceedings, damages, costs expenses or other liability ("Claims") arising out of (i) the use of the Waterfront Car Park by the user or (ii) any act or omission whatsoever, or (iii) any breach of these terms, other than Claims which are attributable to the wilful misconduct or negligence on the part of JDC. 

   

12. Variation 

JDC reserves the right to revise these terms & conditions at any time. Please check the terms & conditions via the Jersey Development Company website regularly to ensure you are familiar with the current version. 

  

13. Laws and Jurisdiction 

These terms and conditions will be governed by and construed in accordance with Jersey Law, and any disputes relating to them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Jersey, which shall be used in all cases.

Commuter Parking Spaces

Located on the lower level of the car park are numbered spaces available to rent. There are 174 spaces available 24/7.

The spaces are behind barriers and the area is covered by CCTV.

Payment for these spaces are by standing order paid monthly in advance.

From 1 July 2023

7 day spaces £300 per calendar month plus GST

The car park operates an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system and will automatically raise the barriers on entry, the areas within the car park where you are authorised to park and on exiting the car park. In the unlikely event that a barrier does not raise, then you will be required to use the plastic card that has been issued to you to raise the barrier by placing it in front of the area below the display.

Disabled parking permit

The Waterfront Car Park offers 5 parking spaces for holders of parking badges for people with disabilities.

If you would like to apply for a car park access card to benefit from this facility you will need to:

  • Complete parking pass application form that can be downloaded below

  • Complete & sign the terms and conditions

  • Provide a photocopy of the Jersey Parking badge

  • Supply your full address and contact details

Upon receipt of the above documents a car park access card will be arranged and sent to you by post within fourteen working days.
