A new children’s soft play facility is to open at the Waterfront next month

Jersey Development Company (JDC) has announced Tintos Soft Play, which will be based in the newly refurbished former Arcadia and WYSIWYG premises, is due to open to the public on Wednesday 1 October.

The launch follows a decision by the Government’s Regeneration Steering Group to provide continuity of indoor leisure facilities for families after the existing soft play area at Fort Regent closes on 29 September. The closure is part of the wider regeneration of Fort Regent, which is set to be redeveloped into the Island’s main leisure and entertainment hub.

Funding for the new play zone has come from proceeds of JDC’s College Gardens development, which are being reinvested into community facilities and public infrastructure as agreed by the Regeneration Steering Group. Previous investments from the College Gardens profits have included contributions to the new skateboard park at Les Quennevais and public-realm improvements in Midvale Road.

Tintos Soft Play will be a brand new engaging soft play space run by an independent local operator and will cater for children aged 0 to 12. The play zone is designed to spark imagination, movement, and discovery for children of all ages. Facilities include a dedicated baby play area for safe exploration, a calming, sensory zone, an interactive play area that encourages creativity and learning through play. Plus, slides, climbing walls, rope bridges and crawl-through tubes. A seated café overlooking the play area and a party space for birthdays and other special events are also provided.

Lee Henry, chief executive of the JDC, said: ‘We’re delighted to see the transformation of this space at the Waterfront into a new family-focused amenity. Tintos Soft Play is just one part of the Government’s relocation of activities from Fort Regent to enable its much-needed regeneration, and we’re pleased to be working alongside Government to deliver new all-weather leisure facilities that serve the community.’

The venue will be open seven days a week from 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and from 9am to 6pm Friday to Sunday.

Bookings and enquiries about children’s parties can be made at www.tintos.fun.
