Free summer wellness and music events announced for The Waterfront

From late spring and throughout the summer, a variety of free wellness and chillout activities will be taking place at St Helier’s Waterfront. Jersey Development Company (JDC) will be offering complimentary summer wellness sessions which will take place at midday every Tuesday and Thursday at Marina Gardens (situated above The Waterfront Carpark) from 4th June to 19th September. The sessions will include a series of 45-minute complimentary Yoga and Tai Chi classes led by experienced practitioners Joe Houze and Ray Malloy.

JDC will also be offering the opportunity to chillout and ease into summer weekends by providing a touch of laid-back Ibiza vibes every Friday evening at the IFC’s Trenton Square between 5pm and 7pm for nine weeks starting from 5th July (Subject to Bailiff’s permission). Branded as ‘Hola Fridays!”, an exceptional DJ line-up is planned featuring Paul Mack, Craig Alder, Malee, Griff, and Sam Sax. Light bites and refreshments will be available from Cooper & Co and The Loft at Big Maggy’s.

JDC’s CEO, Lee Henry said: “We are very keen to bring vibrancy to the Waterfront and to make St. Helier the place of choice for living, working and leisure. These free events will benefit all those living, working or visiting St. Helier’s Waterfront. The lunchtime sessions will epitomise our dedication to promoting health and wellness within St Helier. The sessions aim to engage Islanders in light physical activity. The Friday evening DJ events will hopefully bring people down to the Waterfront for an early evening get-together to enjoy some great music and catchup with family, friends and colleagues.”

No bookings are required for any of the events, islanders can just turn up and enjoy the Waterfront’s open spaces which were developed and are maintained by JDC to contribute to the enhancement of Jersey’s infrastructure and the overall well-being of its community. Events will be cancelled if the weather is unsuitable. Stay tuned to our social channels for any announcements or changes.
