Southwest St Helier Waterfront – Second Stage of Public Consultation

Southwest St Helier Waterfront – Second Stage of Public Consultation

Jersey Development Company (‘JDC’) is developing a Visionary Framework to transform the Southwest waterfront area of St Helier.

An initial concept for the waterfront was consulted on late last year. The team reviewed all the feedback received and have now undertaken in depth analysis and feasibility work to enable a revised and more detailed concept to be developed.

We want to hear from islanders again on the latest plans and the community are encouraged to get involved.

The proposals are being developed in line with the Environment  Minister’s Southwest St Helier Planning Framework – which is the guidance that will be used to assess and ultimately determine future planning applications in the area.

JDC Managing Director Lee Henry said: ‘The redevelopment of Southwest St Helier provides an unmissable opportunity to substantially improve the area and we’re very keen for islanders to have their say.

We’ve already had many islanders contact us from our first round of consultations, and we’d really like as many people as possible to attend an online or in person Q&A session so we can present the work that has been undertaken, find out what islanders think and answer any questions.

Following a thorough review of the feedback received we will consult again during July, prior to preparing a planning application.’

If members of the public would like to attend an online or in person session as part of the Stage 2 consultation, we’d like them to register their interest by dropping the team an email at info@sthelierwaterfront.je and further details will be provided. Due to COVID- 19 restrictions, registration is necessary to ensure numbers are within COVID-19 guidelines.
