Jersey Development Company (JDC) was established in 2011 to undertake property development for the States of Jersey and is committed to delivering socio-economic benefits for the public of Jersey.

JDC projects have historically included the redevelopment of the Waterfront area through the use of third party development partners. The Company has previously directly delivered affordable housing and first time buyer apartments at Albert Pier, as well as the Waterfront car park and associated public gardens, the Les Jardins de la Mer public gardens and the regeneration of the Weighbridge area with the creation of a new and vibrant public space. JDC continues to maintain and upkeep these community areas.

Now in its sixth year, we continue to sustainably create a number of successful developments in Jersey on land entrusted directly to us by the States of Jersey. All of the profits from these projects are returned directly to the government and the people of Jersey.

JDC is run by an independent board rather than political appointees and is accountable to its shareholder, the Minister for Treasury and Resources. The Company was formed following a change of name and constitution of the Waterfront Enterprise Board, and while it holds the same assets and liabilities, JDC has a different structure and purpose from its predecessor. It has no policy-making functions or remit to develop master plans, and is solely charged to deliver policies agreed by the States of Jersey in an effective and efficient manner.
